Poland investigates attempted recruitment for sabotage at a drone factory

The District Prosecutor’s Office in the Polish city of Gliwice, together with the Katowice branch of the Internal Security Agency (ABW), has launched a large-scale investigation into an attempt to recruit an operative to carry out an arson attack at Flytronic S.A. Source: RMF24

The company is a key developer and manufacturer of high-tech unmanned aerial vehicles for the defense sector. Investigative measures were launched as soon as information about the recruitment activity appeared in the public domain, and the case has been classified as incitement to commit a crime in the interests of a foreign intelligence service.

According to preliminary findings, in October 2026, an unidentified person in the Telegram chat “Belsatushchina” attempted to persuade a potential operative to carry out sabotage at a defense facility. The organizers offered a reward of 30 thousand US dollars for successfully setting fire to Flytronic S.A.’s production or warehouse facilities.

The prosecutor’s office emphasizes that the suspect’s actions were directly aimed at damaging Poland’s strategic infrastructure and assisting the special services of a foreign state.

ABW officers are currently conducting a series of operational and investigative measures to identify the recruiter and establish whether there were any accomplices in the criminal plot within the country.

Polish law enforcement agencies have stepped up security around military-industrial complex facilities amid an increase in attempts to organize hybrid attacks and acts of sabotage against sites associated with the production of military equipment.

Recall that an unidentified drone was spotted over a secret US missile defense base in Poland.
